Decompressing or Unzipping files using WinZip

When a compressed file is received or downloaded, it must be uncompressed or unzipped to restore it to its original form.

To decompress or unzip a Zip File using Winzip:

1. Click Start, then Programs, and then WinZip or click the WinZip icon on the desktop, if there is one.

2. Click I Agree when the licensing agreement displays.

3. Click the Next button.

4. Select the Unzip or install from an existing Zip file option and click Next. The Unzip or Install from an Existing Zip file dialog box will appear.

4. Click on the Zip file that is to be unzipped, then click Next.

5. Check the selected folder to see if that is the one that is supposed to be used for saving the unzipped file. If it is not, click the Select different folder button and chose a new desitination folder. When the desired folder is found, click Unzip Now.

6. A window will appear showing the newly unzipped file or files.

7. The Unzip Complete dialog box will also appear. Click Next to create a new Zip file or Unzip a Zip file or click Close to close the program.
